The People’s Projects – Results Announced

The People’s Projects – Man With A Pan  

Voting for the community projects nominated for a share of National Lottery funding in The People’s Projects 2018 closed on Monday 30th April and we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted.

Winners will be announced on Thursday 3rd May during the ITV regional news programmes at 6pm.  Tune in to ITV London tomorrow to find out the results for our own region and to see if Man With A Pan has been successful in its bid.

Camberley Alzheimer’s Café ‘Man With A Pan’ is a community project teaching older men how to cook, and has been chosen as one of the National Lottery’s People’s Projects.

On ITV 6pm news this evening there will an opportunity for viewers to see a video showcasing the ‘Man With A Pan’ project or you can watch it now just click on the link below

The group will run a programme of cookery courses for older men who are carers or who are bereaved. It will teach them how to budget, shop for and prepare healthy meals.

The People’s Projects need YOUR support and you can make this project a winner!

Easter Sunday Celebrations

10.30am Combined Service: Easter Celebration including Holy Communion


Start this special day with a cooked breakfast followed by coffee and tea.

Please stay after breakfast and join us for a combined Easter service, including Holy Communion, in church.

Good Friday – Meditation at the cross

Good Friday 30th March at 2.00pm

Please join us for this quiet reflective service with readings from the Gospel of Mark, as we look back at the days from Jesus’ arrest to his death on the cross.

This service was written by June Morcom, a member of St Mary’s Church, who passed away in January 2018.

At the end of the service the church bell will be tolled 33 times – once for every year of Jesus’ earthly life.

Oasis Coffee Stop & Hot Cross Buns – Good Friday 30th March

10.00am to 11.30am in St Mary’s Church Hall

Come and take time out at our Oasis Coffee Stop in the Church Hall.  Enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee or tea as you chat with friends.

We have hot cross buns and cakes to share and for the children there will be craft activities and mini Easter eggs.

Oasis Coffee Stop will have a break for the Easter holidays         and be back again on Thursday 19th April 2018, 8.45am to 11.00am, in the Lounge at St Mary’s.


Remembrance Sunday


Sunday 12th November 2017

10.30am    Parade Service

An opportunity to come together as a community and to remember all who fought in both World Wars and in other conflicts since, and especially those from our own parish who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

An Act of Remembrance will be held during both of the Sunday services at St Mary’s.


We shall be joined at the 10.30am Parade Service by representatives of the local Uniformed Organisations.  The service will conclude with the laying of a commemorative wreath in our garden.

All our welcome to stay for refreshments served in the church hall following both services.

Come and enjoy a fantastic evening of music and laughter at St Mary’s, courtesy of Rushmoor Male Voice Choir.  With a varied repertoire covering classical and show tunes, operatic classics and contemporary modern songs you can be assured there will be something to suit all tastes.  Of course the choir’s own inimitable Master of Ceremonies will be on hand to lead us through the evening’s entertainment!

The performance is in two parts and during the interval refreshments will be served in the church hall.

Tickets are priced at £5 each and are available from St Mary’s Church Office, Monday to Friday 9am to 1pm, telephone 01276 685167 or email  Payment is accepted at the door on the night.  However, to avoid disappointment, we advise contacting the office in advance to reserve your tickets.

This well known local choir will be performing at St Mary’s to help raise monies for St Mary’s Nursery New Build Project. Our nursery will be relocating to a modern building on the site of the Bowling Club Pavilion in Watchetts Recreation Ground and work has already begun preparing the site for this exciting new venture.
